2008 FELLOWSHIPS AND TRAINING COURSES
OFFERED BY THE ROYAL THAI GOVERNMENT FOR FORUM ISLAND COUNTRIES Outlined below are the proposed training courses, the scheduled dates for the training and the closing date for applications: (i) Training Course on Prevention, Resuscitation and Rehabilitation in Traumatic Injury - A Nursing Perspective – 28 April to 9 May 2008 (Closing date for applications is 8 February 2008); (ii) Training Course on Tourism Management – 1 to 24 May 2008 (Closing date for applications is 8 February 2008); (iii) Training Course on Sustainable Crop Production – 6 May to 12 June 2008 (Closing date for applications is 15 February 2007); and (iv) Managing a Market Economy in the Global World – 12 to 23 May 2008 (Closing date for applications is 15 February 2008). Completed applications must be endorsed by respective governments and forwarded to the Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra. SCHOLARSHIPS: TAIWAN/ROC-PIF SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME The Taiwan/ROC-PIF Scholarship Scheme is advertised each year (usually in September and October) to citizens of Forum Islands Countries; Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu. Scholarships are awarded for full time, certificate, diploma, undergraduate or postgraduate studies within the priority fields of FICs (please refer to the list of priority fields).The Scholarship covers tuition fees, text book, living and accommodation allowances (*special conditions apply for the accommodation allowance), medical insurance, and one return economy airfare to the country of study. Dependents are NOT covered under the scholarship scheme. Internships are available to citizens of Forum Island Countries (click on available links for more information).
